Manna for the Morning: Rise on the Rock That Cannot Be Moved — Morning Devotional

Good morning, beloved. Before the noise of the day reaches your ears, hear the voice of your Father: 'The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness' (Lamentations 3:22-23, ESV). Notice the rhythm of heaven — mercy is not rationed by your performance yesterday, nor delayed by your worries about tomorrow. It is delivered fresh, like manna in the wilderness, gathered only for today (Exodus 16:4). Whatever you carried into sleep last night, lay it down. The God who hung the stars has already prepared a portion of grace with your name on it for May 29, 2026. Jesus taught us to pray, 'Give us this day our daily bread' (Matthew 6:11), and in doing so He rescued us from two thieves of peace: the regret of the past and the anxiety of the future. Daily bread is a discipline of presence. The Israelites who tried to hoard manna found it bred worms by morning (Exodus 16:20), a sobering picture of what happens when we try to live on yesterday's revelation or store up tomorrow's strength today. God's provision — spiritual, emotional, and yes, even financial — flows to the one who walks with Him moment by moment. 'Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths' (Proverbs 3:5-6, KJV). This morning, anchor yourself to the Rock. The psalmist declared, 'He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly moved' (Psalm 62:6). Notice he does not say 'not moved at all' — life will press, markets will shift, relationships will stretch you — but you shall not be greatly moved, because your foundation is not your circumstances but your Savior. True wealth, the kind Scripture commends, is built on this immovable bedrock: 'The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it' (Proverbs 10:22). Seek first His kingdom today (Matthew 6:33), and watch how He orders the rest. So rise, child of God. Open your hands before you open your calendar. Speak the name of Jesus before you scroll the news. Practice the holy art of small obedience — a kind word, a generous thought, an honest answer, a thankful heart. 'This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it' (Psalm 118:24). The same God who fed prophets by ravens and multiplied loaves on a hillside is your Provider today. Walk in step with Him, and the day will not master you — Christ in you will master the day.
