The Mercies That Meet You at Dawn

Beloved, lift your eyes this morning of June 5, 2026, and remember the ancient promise of Lamentations 3:22-23: 'It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.' The mercies you carried yesterday were sufficient for yesterday. They were not meant to be stretched or stockpiled. This dawn brings a fresh allotment, custom-fitted for the trials, decisions, and joys of this single day. God does not recycle grace; He pours out a new measure with every sunrise, and that measure will be enough. Consider how Israel gathered manna in the wilderness (Exodus 16:21): 'And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating.' Those who tried to hoard found it bred worms and stank. The Lord was teaching them — and us — a rhythm of daily dependence. You were not designed to live on last week's prayers or last year's revelations. The Christ who declared Himself 'the bread of life' (John 6:35) invites you to come hungry this morning, to receive what only this day requires. Whatever you are facing — a difficult conversation, a financial decision, a quiet sorrow, an unfinished task — the supply is already prepared and waiting at the door of your heart. This is also the secret of true wealth in the Kingdom. Proverbs 3:9-10 instructs, 'Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty.' Firstfruits living begins at sunrise — giving God the first thought, the first word, the first surrender of the day. When you anchor your morning in Him, your work becomes worship, your labor becomes stewardship, and the increase you seek is no longer merely material but eternal. Jesus put it plainly in Matthew 6:33: 'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.' So step into this day with quiet confidence. The Maker of heaven and earth has already gone before you (Deuteronomy 31:8). The Shepherd is leading; the Spirit is whispering; the Father is watching with delight. You are not alone, and you are not unequipped. As Psalm 118:24 declares, 'This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.' Receive the mercy, gather the manna, honor Him with the firstfruits — and walk out into June 5 carrying the unshakable peace of a soul that knows whose it is.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the mercies that meet me fresh this morning and for the faithfulness that has carried me through every yesterday. Teach me to gather only today's manna, trusting that tomorrow's grace will arrive with tomorrow's sun. Anchor my heart in Your Word, order my steps by Your Spirit, and let every thought, word, and labor of this day honor You as my first and highest treasure. In the precious name of Jesus Christ, my Bread of Life, I pray. Amen.
