Mercies New With the Morning Light — Morning Devotional

Beloved, before your feet touch the floor this Saturday morning, lift your eyes to the One whose compassions fail not. The prophet Jeremiah, surrounded by the ruins of Jerusalem, still dared to write, 'It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness' (Lamentations 3:22-23). Whatever yesterday held — its victories or its regrets, its provision or its lack — today arrives unstained, packaged in fresh mercy from the hand of a Father who has never once been late. Notice that God did not ration mercy as a one-time gift; He renews it like the manna that fell each dawn in the wilderness (Exodus 16:4). The Israelites could not hoard it, for stored manna bred worms by morning. So it is with grace: today's strength must be gathered today. Do not try to live this Saturday on Friday's faith, nor borrow against Sunday's hope. Bow now and receive the portion appointed for these twenty-four hours — wisdom for your decisions, peace for your household, provision for your needs, and patience for the people God will place in your path. This principle of daily dependence is also the foundation of true biblical wealth. 'Give us this day our daily bread,' Jesus taught us to pray (Matthew 6:11), training our hearts to trust the Provider more than the provision. The Lord prospers the steward who walks with Him morning by morning, not the hoarder who trusts in stockpiles. As Proverbs 3:9-10 promises, 'Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: so shall thy barns be filled with plenty.' Give Him your first thoughts, your first hour, your first fruits — and watch how He multiplies what remains. So rise, beloved, and step into this day as one already blessed. The God who painted this June sunrise has written your name on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:16). Walk humbly, work diligently, give generously, and rest confidently — for great is His faithfulness, and His mercies are new this very morning.
