Morning Manna: Rise on the Rock That Cannot Be Moved — Morning Devotional

Beloved, before your feet touch the floor this morning, remember whose you are. The psalmist declared, 'My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up' (Psalm 5:3). To 'direct' our prayer is to aim it like an arrow, deliberately, at the throne of grace. The first minutes of July 2nd belong to God not because He demands them, but because He deserves them, and because your soul was designed to feed on Him before it feeds on news, notifications, or numbers. The world will offer you a thousand voices today; let the voice of your Shepherd be the first one you hear. Jesus taught, 'Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you' (Matthew 6:33). Notice the divine order: seeking first is not merely a schedule, it is a surrender. When we place the King and His righteousness above our concerns for provision, He personally takes responsibility for what we release. This is the hidden architecture of biblical wealth, whether spiritual, relational, or material. As Proverbs 3:9-10 teaches, when we honor the Lord with the firstfruits of our substance, our barns are filled with plenty. The firstfruits of your day, offered to Him, sanctify every hour that follows. Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us, 'It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.' Whatever yesterday held, its power over you ends at sunrise. Mercy is not rationed; it is renewed. Isaiah 40:31 promises that they who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles. Waiting is not passivity, it is trust in motion, the quiet confidence that God is already ahead of you in this day. So rise, child of God, and take your stand upon the Rock that cannot be moved (Psalm 62:2). Let integrity govern your words, let generosity shape your hands, and let gratitude be the melody of your heart. Whatever comes today, remember Romans 8:31: 'If God be for us, who can be against us?' You are not walking into this day alone, you are walking into it with the One who spoke galaxies into being and still knows the number of hairs on your head.
