Fresh Mercies for a New Morning — Morning Devotional

Beloved, before your feet touch the floor this morning, know that God has already gone before you. The prophet Jeremiah wrote in Lamentations 3:22-23, 'It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.' Yesterday's shortcomings do not carry into today's sunrise. God has stocked this day with a portion of grace measured precisely for what you will face — the conversations, the decisions, the burdens, and the blessings. Like the manna that fell fresh in the wilderness, today's provision cannot be stored from yesterday, nor borrowed from tomorrow. It must be gathered now, in His presence. On this July morning in 2026, as the world races faster and louder, the invitation of Psalm 46:10 remains unchanged: 'Be still, and know that I am God.' Stillness is not the absence of activity but the presence of trust. Before you check the headlines, the markets, or the messages awaiting you, check in with the One who holds it all together. Colossians 1:17 declares that in Christ 'all things consist' — the very atoms of your morning are held in place by His word of power. When you begin your day rooted in this truth, anxiety loses its grip, and clarity becomes your companion. Scripture consistently ties spiritual anchoring to practical fruitfulness, including in matters of wealth and stewardship. Proverbs 3:5-10 instructs us to trust the Lord with all our heart, to acknowledge Him in all our ways, and promises that our barns shall be filled with plenty. Notice the order: trust first, then provision follows. Jesus reinforced this in Matthew 6:33, saying, 'But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.' Kingdom-first living is not a formula for prosperity — it is a posture of the soul that positions you to receive what God has already ordained. Today, seek Him first, and watch how differently every other pursuit falls into order. So lift your eyes this morning, beloved. Isaiah 40:31 promises that 'they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.' Whatever this day requires of you — strength for the sprint, endurance for the marathon, or patience for the wait — God has already deposited it in your account of grace. Walk in it. Trust it. Steward it well. The manna is fresh, and it is enough.
