Daily Bible Verse
“It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Reflection
In the heart of Jeremiah's lament over a broken Jerusalem, a sudden shaft of light breaks through the darkness. The prophet, surrounded by ruin and grief, anchors his soul not in changing circumstances but in the unchanging character of God. The Hebrew word for mercies here is *chesed* — a covenant love that is loyal, steadfast, and inexhaustible. It is the very reason we draw breath this morning; not our merit, but His mercy sustains us. Notice the beautiful truth tucked into verse 23: His compassions are *new every morning*. Yesterday's mercy was sufficient for yesterday, but God does not ration His grace from a dwindling supply. Each sunrise is a fresh delivery of divine kindness, freshly baked like the manna in the wilderness, gathered for today's journey alone. Whatever burdens you carried into last night's sleep, God has prepared a new portion of grace to meet you in this new day. As you step into June 24th, lift your eyes from what is consumed to the One who keeps you from being consumed. His faithfulness is great — not because you have been faithful, but because He cannot be otherwise. Rest in that today. Let gratitude be the first language on your lips, and let trust be the posture of your heart.
