Daily Bible Verse
Psalm 118:24 · KJV
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Reflection
Beloved, before your feet touched the floor this morning, God had already fashioned this day with divine intention. Psalm 118:24 is not merely a poetic sentiment — it is a declaration of sovereign craftsmanship. The Hebrew word for 'made' here is asah, the same verb used in Genesis when God formed the heavens and the earth. Every sunrise you witness is a fresh act of creation, hand-shaped by the Author of time Himself. Today, July 3rd, 2026, was written into the scroll of eternity before the foundations of the world were laid. Notice that the verse does not say, 'This is the day the Lord has given.' It says He has made it. There is a purposeful architecture to your twenty-four hours — appointments God has ordained, encounters He has orchestrated, provisions He has prepared. Even the trials you may face today have passed through the loving hands of a Father who works all things together for good (Romans 8:28). Your circumstances did not catch heaven by surprise. The response, then, is not passive acknowledgment but active rejoicing. 'We will rejoice and be glad' is a covenant choice — a decision made independent of feelings or circumstances. Joy is the birthright of the redeemed, and gladness is the currency of faith. As you step into this day, refuse to postpone worship until conditions feel worthy. Rejoice now. Be glad now. For the God who made this day is walking through it with you, and His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23).
