Daily Bible Verse
Psalm 118:24 · KJV
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Reflection
Every sunrise is a fresh gift from the hand of God, unearned and undeserved, yet freely given. When the psalmist declared these words, he was not merely acknowledging the passage of time — he was recognizing that this very day, with all its joys and trials, was personally crafted by the Creator of the universe. God did not stumble into July 2nd; He appointed it. He knew the challenges you would face, the decisions you would make, and the opportunities that would arise. Nothing about today has escaped His sovereign attention. The command to 'rejoice and be glad' is not conditional upon our circumstances. Notice the psalmist does not say, 'This is the day when everything goes well.' He says simply, 'This is the day which the LORD hath made.' Our joy is anchored not in the events of the day but in the Author of the day. When we embrace this truth, we are freed from the tyranny of circumstance. Whether the market rises or falls, whether health is strong or fragile, whether relationships flourish or strain — the same God who made today is present within it. True wealth begins with this posture of gratitude. Proverbs 10:22 reminds us, 'The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.' Before you chase after any earthly gain today, pause and receive the day itself as your first blessing. Walk into July 2nd with expectant joy, knowing that the God who fashioned this day has already gone before you to prepare good works for you to walk in.
