Daily Bible Verse
Psalm 118:24 · KJV
“This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
Reflection
Beloved, awaken this morning with the sacred understanding that today is not accidental. The very breath filling your lungs, the sunrise painting the sky, the opportunities awaiting your steps—all are handcrafted by the Sovereign Author of time Himself. King David, inspired by the Holy Spirit, penned these words within a psalm of triumphant thanksgiving, celebrating the stone the builders rejected becoming the chief cornerstone. This verse points prophetically to Christ, our Cornerstone, whose resurrection makes every dawn a testimony of victory. To rejoice is a deliberate act of the will, not merely a fleeting emotion tethered to circumstance. When you choose gladness in the Lord's making, you declare war on despair, anxiety, and the weariness that so easily entangles the soul. Even amid trials, financial pressures, or unanswered prayers, this day remains His workmanship—purposed, ordered, and infused with grace sufficient for every need. The Hebrew word for 'rejoice' (giyl) carries the sense of spinning in joyful celebration, an unrestrained response to divine goodness. Stewardship of this day is a form of worship. Whether you labor in commerce, minister to your family, or wait upon the Lord in quiet devotion, offer these hours as a living sacrifice. Let gratitude precede your requests, praise anchor your work, and hope crown your rest. For the God who made this day also walks through it beside you, ordering your steps and multiplying your seed.
