Reflection

Beloved, awaken this Sunday morning with holy expectation. The psalmist does not say 'this is a day' but 'THIS is THE day' — set apart, appointed, and fashioned by the very hand of the Almighty. Every sunrise is a fresh testimony that God's mercies are new (Lamentations 3:22-23), and every breath you draw is a sovereign gift from the One who numbered your days before one of them came to be (Psalm 139:16). You did not stumble into July 5th, 2026 by accident — the Lord ordained this day for your rejoicing. Notice the verse commands two responses: 'we will rejoice' and 'we will be glad.' Joy is not the byproduct of favorable circumstances; it is a decision of the redeemed heart. Charles Spurgeon reminds us that 'gladness should be the atmosphere of the Christian.' Whether today brings abundance or trial, the truth remains — this day belongs to the Lord, and so do you. Refuse to squander it in worry, comparison, or complaint. Instead, lift your hands, open your Bible, bless your household, and steward every hour as sacred trust. As you consider your finances, your family, and your calling this Sunday, remember that true wealth flows from a grateful heart (Proverbs 10:22). The one who rejoices in the Lord's day will find the Lord's provision faithful. Rejoice — not tomorrow, not when conditions improve, but today. This is the day.
