Daily Bible Verse

Psalm 118:24 · KJV

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Reflection

On this July morning, the Psalmist's ancient declaration rings with fresh urgency. Every sunrise is a hand-crafted gift from the Creator Himself — not a random rotation of the earth, but a deliberate act of divine love. When David penned these words, he was not describing an easy day or a prosperous season; he was worshiping through whatever circumstances had come. The Hebrew word for 'made' here is 'asah,' meaning to fashion or accomplish with purpose. God did not merely allow this day to happen — He crafted it with your name written upon it. Rejoicing is a choice, not a feeling. Notice the Psalmist says 'we will rejoice' — future tense, an act of the will. Joy is not the absence of trouble but the presence of trust. When we choose gladness before we see the outcome, we are declaring faith in the Giver even when the gift is still wrapped in mystery. This is the posture that unlocks both spiritual peace and practical wisdom, for a joyful heart makes clearer decisions and sees opportunities that anxiety obscures. Today, whatever waits for you — bills, blessings, burdens, or breakthroughs — remember that the same God who fashioned this day has already gone before you into it. Walk into it with holy expectation, knowing that rejoicing is your reasonable response to a sovereign Author who never wastes a single sunrise.
