Daily Bible Verse

Proverbs 3:5-6 · KJV
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Reflection

There is a profound liberty hidden in this ancient counsel from Solomon. To trust the LORD with *all* thine heart is to release the exhausting burden of needing to figure everything out for ourselves. Our understanding, though a gift from God, is finite — it sees only the present moment, the visible road, the immediate concern. But the LORD sees the end from the beginning. When we lean upon Him rather than our own limited reasoning, we are not abandoning wisdom; we are anchoring it in the One who is Wisdom Himself. To acknowledge Him in *all* thy ways is the daily practice that makes this trust real. It is not merely a Sunday devotion or a crisis prayer — it is the quiet whisper before a business decision, the pause before a difficult conversation, the gratitude before a meal, the surrender before sleep. When God is consulted in the small things, He becomes the natural counselor in the great things. Every step becomes consecrated. And the promise is breathtaking: *He shall direct thy paths.* Not suggest. Not advise. Direct. The God who flung the stars into orbit and numbers the hairs of your head will personally guide the trajectory of your life. Today, lay down the weight of self-direction. Acknowledge Him in the next decision, however small, and watch how faithfully He leads.
