Solomon's ancient wisdom speaks directly to the heart of biblical wealth: honor God first, and He will multiply what remains. The 'firstfruits' principle is not about giving God leftovers or what we can spare after our bills are paid. It is about giving Him the very first portion of our increase as an act of faith and worship. When the Israelites brought their firstfruits to the temple, they were declaring that everything they had came from God's hand, and that they trusted Him to provide the rest of the harvest. This act of priority worship released divine blessing over the entirety of their substance. Notice the beautiful promise attached to this principle: barns filled with plenty and presses bursting with new wine. This is not a transactional formula where we give to get, but rather a covenantal truth where honoring God positions us in the flow of His abundance. When we put God first in our finances, we acknowledge His lordship over every area of our lives. The tithe and offering are not merely religious duties; they are spiritual seeds that prepare the soil of our hearts to receive God's increase. A heart that withholds from God becomes constricted and small, while a generous heart expands to hold more blessing. Today, consider what 'firstfruits' looks like in your life. Is it the first portion of your paycheck dedicated to kingdom purposes? Is it the first hour of your morning given to prayer and the Word? True biblical prosperity flows from this foundational posture of honor. As you put God first in your substance, watch how He faithfully fills your barns with plenty that money alone could never purchase, peace, joy, purpose, and overflowing provision for every good work He has called you to.
